Swedish artist Gordon S. captures gesture and emotion – to get beyond the surface in his paintings of people and landscapes. He paints in oil on untreated wood. The unique patterns of the grain provide movement and texture visible beneath the paint, and often serve as pictorial elements. He also works with metal sculpture.
Gordon transitioned from a family business to full-time artist. He has had exhibitions at Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, Arts Fort Worth, Chandler Center For the Arts, Marin MOCA, Yellowstone Art Museum, High Desert Museum, Edward Montgomery Fine Art in Carmel, CA.
Gordon has participated in the annual Konstrundan Studio Tour, Skåne, Sweden.
Awards include selection for the Acclaimed Artist Series, 2020-2022, New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. His work is in several permanent collections in the U.S. and abroad
